My beginning

Hey!

Welcome to my blog, my name is KK and I am a freshman in college. These first few weeks of college have been pretty interesting, and I learned real quick that college is nothing like high school.
Since college has started a lot has changed for me. Most of my time is now dedicated to school and work, but I still find time to do the things I love like coaching volleyball, scrapbooking, and being active in my church. When I started college I told myself I wasn't going to join any clubs or organizations, but after the first week of school I had changed my mind and joined to clubs and I am now in the organization called "Adopt a Grandparent."
I chose to join Adopt a Grandparent because I felt like that was were I belong and something I was interested in. I really enjoy helping the elder and listening to all their stories that have to tell. Since I am majoring in nursing and wanting to work with older people, I thought well why don't I start now by joining Adopt a Grandparent. I thought that if I joined this organization I could really help an elderly person out and be there for them. A lot of elderly people don't have family who visits them much or have someone who is interested to talk to them. To me I enjoy listening to their life stories because it is interesting to me to hear what all they went through and still go through today. Each and every one of us can learn something from them if we just take the time to listen. I wish I had visited my great-grandfather more before he passed away because I never took the time to listen to him and I never was interested until now. Joinging this club I feel like I have a second chance at that with someone new.
This next year is going to have many great experiences and memories that I will never forget.

         So until next time,
                       KK :) <3
